in Tamil and Hindi for Neo-Literates |
National Institute for Adult Education (NIAE) wanted to encourage local regional news papers in India to cater to the neo-literates. They decided that to market test the commercial viability of the concept. Three model newspapers, in Hindi, Tamil and Bengali, were designed and produced. I designed the the ones in hindi and tamil.
This image is of the Tamil newspaper. The design was subsequently adopted by a local group in Tamil Nadu which works with neo-literates in the state. I probably joined the ranks of tamil neo-literates by the end of the exercise.
