Lokayan is a NGO which critically examines contemporary issues of development
and society and liaises with other field based NGO's. It publishes LOKAYAN bulletin,
a quarterly. A special issue of the bulletin on human rights was re-edited as
a book. Since it was a regular journal repackaged in book form, on a very 'serious'
issue, it had to be academic without being 'dry'. Illustration were chosen from
various human rights related publications. This book was designed on the Mac and
printed from one piece bromides, a revolutionary concept in India for 1989. It
was designed in five days.
